After a long absence...

It's been nearly four years since I last posted to this blog...I'm actually surprised that blogger.com kept it active! Since 2006, I have transferred from Alice Springs to San Diego, California, serving aboard the USS DECATUR (DDG-73). Click here to visit the DECATUR's web page.

OK, so for the first real entry in my blog, I'll take you back to a trip I took in August to visit Uluru. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Australia, first a quick geography review... Welcome To My Blog!

First, a little background... I'm on active duty in the U.S. Navy and have been historically terrible at keeping in touch with my family in Tekoa, WA; San Leandro and Danville, CA. This is my attempt at correcting this (finally!). So, welcome to my blog. I will post here as often as there is something noteworthy to post...no guarantees how often that will be! I am a part-time flight instructor and amateur photographer (still learning) and will post pictures as well to make things a little more interesting. Check back periodically to see what's new and since this is my first attempt at blogging, don't be surprised if the format changes! Troy
